Friends of Patcham Junior School – New Year Update 2026
Wishing you all a very happy New Year. We hope everyone managed to find some peace amongst the chaos of the festive season.
I would like to say a huge thank you to everyone who supported our events last term. Now more than ever, it feels important to build strong communities for ourselves and for our children, especially at a time when the world can feel increasingly divided.
We were truly touched by your generosity over the last few months. Thank you for sending in donations, selling raffle tickets, buying Christmas cards, sponsoring us and coming along to our events. We know that while it may feel like October and November seems like an endless list of requests from FOPJS, I can't stress enough how much donations help to keep our overhead costs down. All of this support means that every child at the school will benefit. A special mention must go to our brilliantly competitive children, who raised a phenomenal amount through selling raffle tickets. It was wonderful to see how enthusiastic and involved they were.
We are delighted to share our fundraising total for the winter term. Raising this amount in just four months is a huge achievement and a real testament to the time, energy and commitment given by our volunteer team. I feel extremely lucky to have such a dedicated and hardworking group of people beside me.
Working at this level is exhausting for everyone, and we are always looking for more regular support. Having more volunteers helps to reduce pressure on the team and avoid burnout, plus the more help we have the more events we can run and we are always happy to welcome new faces . We are already busy planning our next round of events. Please be aware that there may be some changes to the events calendar, as we will be saying a sad farewell to Mr Sutherland at the end of March.
We will also be sending out information soon about the second-hand school uniform rail and how you can support us in a simple but effective way by signing up to Easyfundraising. Please keep an eye out for this information.
Have a brilliant term. The evenings will soon start to get lighter and spring is on its way. Thank you again for being such a supportive community – it is one we can all feel very proud of.
